DHCP Fails to Dynamically Create DNS record

Servers in question are 2012. After reboot or DHCP service reset DNS records are created for exactly 59 minutes and 30 seconds. After that all updates fail with the following prompt in the DEHCP log. If I restart the DHCP service DNS registration works again for 59 minutes.

There are two dhcp servers in a fail over cluster...lets call them dhcp1 and dhcp2.
On the DNS tab for the scopes Always dynamically update DNS records is set.
Name protection is NOT enabled.
The DHCP servers ARE members of the DNSUpdateProxy security group.

Any recommendations?

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

    My understanding is you configure DHCP servers in cluster environment, DHCP1 and DHCP2 are cluster nodes not 2 separate Windows servers. And you have added these 2 node name in DNSUpdateProxy security group. Please help to correct me if my understanding is wrong.

    Please kindly check if there is any event related failover event in cluster.

    And please try to add DHCP role name into DNSUpdateProxy to see if the issue can be resolve.
