Can't change the country setting in Edge/Bing

When I open Edge and go to the homepage, it automatically defaults to cn.bing (the Chinese version). This means the homepage is entirely in Chinese, and the search results are set up for China, as well. The settings for the app are English. I downloaded it from the Microsoft US website and re-installed it multiple times after clearing my browser data and cookies. Even so, it opens up to the Chinese homepage every time. This makes it completely useless as a search engine. I would like to have an alternative to Google Chrome, but thanks to this issue, Edge is not it.

Agree with @John Fearon Even I live in France now, I downloaded the edge from microsoft.fr , microsoft.com. the homepage , the ad , still stay in China. even I give all the permission to edge it shows the local weather , but still shows the Chinese ad, NEWS.... @Yu Zhou-MSFT that doesn't help maybe once you downloaded and installed the Chinese version, whatever you tried(uninstalled, clear the cache), still keeps in the Chinese version. the Microsoft edge more like a malware...

    Hi @Tony Cotto

You can try the following two steps to change your homepage and search engine if you're using Edge Chromium:

    1. You can navigate to edge://settings/search and set Search engine used in the address bar to Google as you wish. 87529-image.png
    2. You can navigate to edge://settings/appearance and set http://www.google.com/ in the textbox under Customize toolbar if you want to use google as your homepage. Click Save to save the change. 87580-image.png
