Hello,

My customer use MDT (without SCCM) for w1809 deployment.
He recently add 20H2 ISO and modify existing task sequence.

When he try to deploy 20H2, an error apear during specialize phase.

I would like to know different thing :
-Is it possible to modify ISO OS on task sequence without modify unatended.xml file ?
-Is it necessary to build new unatended.xml file each time new OS is added ?
-What is the best practice when new OS is available from microsoft ?
(update mdt / adk / what else? )

Thank you

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft MECM Q&A forum.

If you are adding packages via Unattend.xml, it is version specific, so Unattend.xml must match the exact version of the operating system you are servicing. So it's recommended to you click edit Unattend.xml in the OS Info tab and generate a new Unattend.xml answer file after you change the ISO image.

You could also run the Validation check to see what the SIM isn’t happy about.

    Best regards,
    Simon

    Hello,

    Thanks for your answer.
Validation only display some warning for oobe phase but nohing about specialize phase. I'm going to look setupact.log to see what I can find.
If I don't use unatend.xml file, task sequence works fine.

    OK for the packages !

    I keep you informed.
