Windows Server 2016 Network Load Balancing Cluster - Check service availablity

My NLB Cluster consists of two members. On each member there is a service listening on the port (for example) 2222, but only one service is active at a time - either on member 1 or on member 2. Can I configure the NLB cluster in such a way, that it first checks if a service on a particular member is available, before it transfers an incoming request to this member?

    Hi,

Can I configure the NLB cluster in such a way, that it first checks if a service on a particular member is available, before it transfers an incoming request to this member?

As far as I know, Windows NLB will not check service availability. There is no way to achieve your goal with Windows NLB cluster.
