How to duplicate Hyper-V Virtual PC onto the same server

I am seeking to make a copy of a Hyper-V Virtual PC onto the same server.
I have read some processes for this, but not able to get a working result.
I have exported one of my Virtual PCs, and then when I import it, it does not seem to have any way to rename it so get problems when I attempt this.
I get errors as the Virtual PC name and files already exist.
So for the purpose of "cloning" a Virtual PC, I am stuck on how to achieve this.
I am expecting to be able to change the name of the PC and it's VHD file(s) within the import process.
I know I have to create a new machine ID etc; so expect the Windows license to lose activation and the like, but want everything else retained.
Hoping to get suggestions if this possible.

    Hi,

Yes, if you want to import the VM into the same host, we need to create new machine ID. For the license, we need to ensure the VM number meet the license requirements on the Hyper V host.

Apart from the import and export, to copy the VM, we may copy the VHD file of the orginal VM, the create a new VM using the copied VHD file.

    Thanks for your time!
    Best Regards,
    Anne
