SQL Server 2017 security patch

Hi,

Our production environment running on SQL Server 2017 CU21.

KB4583457 is a security update which came after CU22.

As of now CU23 is available. We want to update our production environment from CU21 to CU23.

Do we require to apply security patch KB4583457 before applying CU23 or this security patch already included with CU23?

No, you just need to apply the latest CU23 to SQL 2017. This update contains fixes that were released after the initial release of SQL Server 2017.
