Microsoft Word Transcribe function not working

I use the transcribe function in the online version of Microsoft Word heavily for work, but it's no longer available in the dropdown menu next to dictate.

In the search bar, it'll pop up as an option but it's greyed out.

Was that turned off during an update and is there a way to get it back?

    This is missing from Word Online as of Monday 4/19.

    Until this is restored, you might try playing a recording to your microphone using dictate.

    The people who can make changes to Word seldom, if ever, read anything that is posted in this help forum.

    You can use the Feedback mechanism in Office or post directly to UserVoice to let developers know

    what you want.

    FYI, CharlesKenyon-8472, you were absolutely on point in regards to the feedback mechanism on Word. I've been experiencing this same frustrating issue. Started out following forum posts and also using the customer support chat. All futile. I read your post, used Word's feedback mechanism, and got a response within 24 hours. The responder indicated the transcribe feature is once again available within Word online. Thank you for your assistance!

    Hi @William ,
    Did this problem appear in all Word document?
    As far as I know this feature is only available in English, I suggest you check the user interface language.

    It's still not working as MS Word asks for the browser to be refreshed.
