80072F8F Server 2012 R2 Could not search for new updates

Keep getting this error code.

Have performed DISM restore
time is correct
local firewall is not on
ran WSUS offline updater successfully
no proxy

I found the following description of the error code for your reference:
0x80072F8F -2147012721 ERROR_INTERNET_SECURE_FAILURE ErrorClockWrong One or more errors were found in the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate sent by the server.

Have you enabled the SSL on the WSUS server? Have you import the certificate on the Windows Server 2012R2 client? Have the windows server 2012R2 client installed the latest updates already?

I found the explanation of the error code for your reference first:
0x80072F8F ERROR_INTERNET_SECURE_FAILURE ErrorClockWrong One or more errors were found in the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate sent by the server.

Check your system date and time is correct.

As per above link: It's started working for Windows Server 2012R2 after change in Internet Explorer ->Tools and choose Internet Options-> Advanced ->Under Security section, uncheck the following:

Check for publisher’s certificate revocation.

Check for server certificate revocation.
