One TS with multiple deployment type

Hi All,

We are using MDT to deploy Win10 run well in the past years. I wonder if there is a way to ask user to select deployment type when using MDT.

NEWCOMPUTER will format the whole disk and device the disk per the predefined rules.
Refresh will only reinstall the OS on system drive.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your answer and I check the post you provided, in the linked page, the answer is Deploymenttype based on Modules. I can achieve it, but it is useless. It is better that a window can be popped up when deploying OS with MDT and user can select "Reinstall" or "Fresh install"

Per my experience, it's hard to use both Refresh and New Computer deployment type in a single MDT task sequence. I will do more research, if there is any update, I will let you know.

If you have intergrated MDT with SCCM, we could simply create different available task sequence for Refresh and New Computer scenario and then users could choose the appropriate one.

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your assistance. I am trying to find a solution that only re-install the OS on C disk and keep other on local disk. Do you have any experience? I disable the TS "Format and Partition", but there will be an error that 5456, If I clean up all the data on the local disk, the installation will be successfully.

Another question that if you have any knowledge on it.

Really appreciate for your help.
