Exclude an exe from superfetch/prefetch

Hi!

As I know it prefetch/superfetch creates .pf files for all executables that were previously runned.

As such I don't want windows to make a specific executable's .pf file through prefetch because I don't want to disable  prefetch entirely for this.

Any help would be gratefull.Including registry edits if an entry could be successfully made that excludes the exe.

If you like, collect user-mode dump of the crashing application. I can analyze it for clues as to what is causing it to happen. To do this, see this Microsoft article: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/edge/forum/....

Alternatively, you can download and import the reg file form here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!ApX1j7el8hb3gXoVRJjP9kKQFYs.... After importing, restart the computer, reproduce the issue, and go to %localappdata%\CrashDumps.

You may then upload the .dmp file to OneDrive, Google Drive, or some other file share service, share the file, and post the link here.

    Alright thanks William!

I wish it would ve been possible cuz there is a .exe(DarkSoulsIII.exe)that is somewhat behaving strange. When no prefetch file is made then application works as intended;but when made, the game crashes when I quit the application with in game menu(Since the game closes unexpectedly,The crash always and only gets shown in the windows Diagnostic report),with "StackHash_0000" as the Fault Module Name. Also sometimes I see bad_module_info too in windows diagnostic.

I tried rammap and it somewhat fixed my problem but I m afraid the solution of rammap might be just temporary and wont work everytime by emptying Working Sets and Page Files.

What else can I do to prevent this problem from happening?

Everything as such is updated, windows drivers game itself all redist etc. So I don't think problem would be because of this.

    There is also this-

Should I try to set prefetch to boot only?

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is William. I'm a Windows technical expert. I'll be happy to help you out today.

This is not possible. If you have programming experience you can create a monitor API to find and remove what you want to exclude, but then you likely would not be posting here.
