Microsoft says "Sites are Active Directory objects that represent one or more TCP/IP subnets with highly reliable and fast network connections." I am curious what is the generally accepted definition of "FAST"?

What is the slowest link between DC(sites) that is considered acceptable for an AD site boundary?

Moreover has anyone created an AD site that spans multiple physical locations or Azure with link speeds in the 30-40ms range?

    A: Basically, it is a local area network, the network is reliable, the link speed is good, and it is not easy to be interrupted.

    What is the slowest link between DC(sites) that is considered acceptable for an AD site boundary?
    A: The slowest link is 500 (Kbps).

    A: If you create such site, and link speeds in the 30-40ms range is your accepted range based on your own network speed, you can configure and keep such site.
    If you create such site, and link speeds in the 30-40ms range is not your accepted range based on your own network speed, you may not need to configure and keep such site.

    Than you for your response. I believe rather than create a cross-location AD site, we're going to try the "instant replication" setting for the site link to Azure using ADSIEDIT.
