I am running Windows 10 Pro on a Dell XPS 8930. I logon using my Microsoft account. The computer is on a peer to peer network with all machines runnign Windows 10 Pro and all logged in to Microsoft Account. Only this machine is having problems.

Over the last several days, I have been receiving reports that Windows is not activated. If I use the Troubleshooter, it reactivates saying that my activation is linked to my Microsoft account. All seems well, but a couple of hours later, the deactivation will again occur. This all seems to have started around the beginning of September.

This is the report I got after activating it recently. Any ideas?

How many computers are linked to this account?

Please check system journal (Event Viewer) for possible reasons of disactivation. DistributedCOM errors should be ignored.

Or save system journal to evtx file and share it to OneDrive for analysis.

There are only two computers on this Microsoft Account. The third one on the network is linked to a separate account.

I have saved the file, but I will have to set up OneDrive before I can post it.

The only change I made was to switch from using RAID to AHCI. I did this by going into Safe Mode using MSConfig, then changing the BIOS, booting back to Safe Mode, then using MSConfig to boot normally. I was not running a RAID array; just changing the way Dell had it set up and getting rid of Intel RST which I don't need. I also did this on one of the other machines and it is working fine.

    Hi,

I'm Independent Advisor not Microsoft employee or support person. But I'm in contact with Windows developers since 1995 - as a one of the best Windows beta-testers till 2009 when program was closed, as an MVP in 2005-2017 including Windows System & Performance nomination. So I have deep enough Windows knowledge and you may trust me. It's a pleasure for me to help others and I'll do all my best to help you.
