We were using SQL Trial server and then it expired. So we bought a standard sql license. It keeps giving us an error when we try to use the license key to upgrade. Any suggestions?

    Hi @Roger Staubach ,
    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

It keeps giving us an error when we try to use the license key to upgrade.

Could you please share us the detailed error message?
In addition, please make sure to upgrade SQL Server from the SQL Server Installation Center -> Maintenance tab, and then select Edition Upgrade.
