Good day, everyone. I hope you can help me.

I am using Coby laptop (model: NBPC 1638) and my windows is up to date. However, I was shocked when I plugged my flash drive in my laptop only to find out that it was not reading it. I tried other flash drives but got the same result. Then, I tried plugging my phone using a connector and it just charged but not reading my phone.

I opened my device manager and it showed me these:

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Performance and system failures

Hi! I am an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. Do take note that as independent advisors we are not responsible for the development of Windows or the computer hardware and its drivers. I will try my best to help you out regarding your issue.

Based on the screenshots that you have sent you may try the following steps below:

Method 1. Disable USB Suspend Settings.

    1. Click Windows > type Control Panel and click on it.
    2. Look for Power Option in the Control Panel Window. If that does not show up, look for Hardware & Sound and click on it. You should now see Power Options

3..Click at Change plan setting, you should see it on the right side.

    1. Then select Change Advanced Power Settings.
    2. At USB Settings set the USB selective suspend setting to Disabled. *

    * Note: If you own the laptop set the USB Suspend to Disable to both "On Battery" & "Plugged in".

    1. Click OK to apply changes.
    2. Restart your computer.

Method 2: Delete invalid or corrupted Registry entries.

Since the steps involves registries, please make sure to do a Backup of your registry first. To do this, kindly click on the Windows Logo and and on search type regedit > open Registry Editor > On the Registry Editor window, Click on Computer on the left pane> Click File> Click Export> Enter a Name> choose a location to save a backup of your registry and Click Save.

Once you are done backing up your registries, carefully follow the steps below.

    1. Open Registry Editor: To do that:

Simultaneously press “Windows” + “R” keys to open the RUN window.

In “RUN” window “Open” box, type: regedit

    Press Enter.

    1. From the left pane, navigate to this key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}

    1. Look at the right-pane and Delete (right-click > Delete) the following registry entries (values) if found:

    UpperFilters

    LowerFilters

    1. Close Registry Editor and restart your computer.
    2. Check if your USB Device is working.

Please also check on this article below for more information. There are a few more methods that you can try like uninstalling your USB controller drivers and reinstalling them. As well as updating Intel device drivers if you have an intel processor on your laptop.
