Netstat Segments Retransmitted stuck at zero

Hi,

When I type netstat -s at the command prompt one of the output lines is "Segments Retransmitted".
Lately I noticed that the value is stuck at zero (for both IPv4 and IPv6).

When I run a speed test and open Wireshark I see occasional TCP retransmissions as expected, but I do not see any change in the "Segments Retransmitted" in the netstat output (for both IPv4 and IPv6).
The same behavior occurs in the "Performance Monitor" app.

Note that "Segments Retransmitted" used to work fine for me until a few months ago on the same computer and in the same network.

Will appreciate your help.

Thanks,
Tal.

    Hi,

Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

Before we go further, may I know if we have changed any settings on the problematic device before the issue occurred?

Whether the retransmission TCP segments were sent by the problematic client in Wireshark result?

    Best Regards,
    Sunny

    Hi @Sunny Qi

    Thanks for the quick response.

I am not aware of any new settings, other than the regular windows updates - the PC is up to date.

Yes, the TCP retransmissions in Wireshark were from the local client to the speed test server.

    Thanks,
    T.
