Hi OwenJohnsonHW, I am Rob, an independent and a 14 time and dual award MVP specializing in Windows troubleshooting and Bluescreen analysis. The BIOS coming up does not mean there is no CPU or other related hardware issue.
Assuming the copy of Windows on the flash drive is functioning as it should (and it probably is from all of your description of the issue) there is a hardware problem.
Either the CPU itself has an issue, there is a problem with the installation (not likely), or the installation caused something to fail on the motherboard that is CPU related. Possibly, during the CPU switch, something else was jarred.
Have you tried putting the original CPU back in?
Here to help,
Rob
