Does Azure require you to account for seperate 'Protected Instances' for SQL and OS backup of the same server when calculating costs?

Basically we are doing some SQL server upgrades for a client and implementing SQL backups for their production servers but I want to make sure I properly quote the costs. I just want to make sure I account for multiple instances costs if one is needed for the OS and another would be needed for SQL for the same server.

    @Jake Dennis Thank you for posting your question on Microsoft Q&A community forum!

    If the VM itself will be configured for VM backups and then each SQL DB will be configured in SQL backups then they will each be part of their own instance calculation.
