Cannot install programs

Hi,

three weeks ago I upgraded Windows 7 to 10 (full, fresh install), and now I started having problems with running applications.

Today Firefox stopped being able to play sound. I tried to reinstall but I had an error '' 7-zip can not create temp folder archive''.

Then discord stopped working as well and I tried reinstall as well but it also did't work. Then Escape from Tarkov game stopped working as well.

After restart I have this error message ''C:/programfiles/windowsapps/microsoft.649981c3f5f10_2.22005.5739.0x64_8.../win32bridge.server.exe cannot create file when that file already exists.''

Any help will be welcomed.

Hi, my name is Nigel and I am an Independent Advisor here to try and work with you on this issue you are having.

It seems like your install has got itself into a bit of a mess!

To be honest you could spend a lot of time working through error by error, but I would advise to simply Reset Windows to factory defaults, and that should resolve your issues.

Windows Reset - Keep my files

You will need to reinstall any applications you have installed, but it will keep all your files. Problem that you are describing should be resolved then.

Link below has information on how to do this.

*I would always recommend keeping personal files and folders stored on OneDrive. Especially with an older machine the likely hood of increasing hardware failures means your data is always at risk. OneDrive will ensure you never loose your files through hardware failures.

Hope this helps! Its a bit of a pain to do, but sure it will work out better for you.
