Hi neilstuart1, My name is Jeremy, a Windows Independent Adviser. I'll be happy to help you out today. Let’s see what I can do.

I understand your frustration there and I apologize for any inconvenience it may cause you. Rest assured that I will do my best to help you

Please refer to the following methods for a possible fix

    1. Press on Windows + Q and type CMD, right-click Command prompt and Run as Admin
    2. When Command Prompt opens, enter " sfc /scannow " and press Enter to run it

    *SFC scan should now start.

*Keep in mind that this scan can take up to 15 minutes, so don’t interrupt it.

*Sometimes your Windows installation can become corrupted, causing the problem to exist

If the problem still persists, or if you were unable to run SFC scan, try using DISM scan instead. To do that, follow these steps:

    1. Open Command Prompt as administrator.
    2. Enter " DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth " and press Enter to run it.
    3. DISM scan will now start.

*This scan can take more than 15 minutes to complete, so don’t interrupt it.

*Once the DISM scan is finished, check if the problem is resolved.

If that didn't work, I may suggest you to temporarily uninstall 2004 update to fix the problem

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Click on Update & Security.
    3. Click on Recovery.
    4. Under “Go back to previous version of Windows 10,” click the Get started button.
    5. Select a reason why you’re uninstalling version 2004.
    6. Click the Next button.
    7. Click the No, thanks button.
    8. Click the Next button.
    9. Click the Next button again.
    10. Click the "Go back to earlier build" button.

*Once you complete the steps, the device will remove the latest feature update, and it’ll revert to the previous version

You may also need to disable the auto-update feature after the rollback so your device will not auto-install the 2004 update. Please do this so your device can run properly and remain to the before update temporarily and rest assured that Microsoft will release an update soon for this.

I hope that you understand and thank you for your patience

    Kind regards,

    Jeremy

doing a clean install of the latest nvidia driver fixed the crash for me. I can open task manager with both GPUs enabled.

I could open the performance tab after the DISM scan but after few minutes i tried it again and the system crashed .

Error stop code: SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION.

Thank you Jeremy. The first scan option seemed to have fixed the issue. Corrupt files were found.

    Thanks again for your assistance.
