I’ve been trying to load an application on one of my desktops and I keep getting a blue screen error. My device keeps saying it ran into a problem and tries to collect error information and restart my device. Obviously it isn’t working.

keep getting the stock code: SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION

Apparently what failed was: ddkmd.sys

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Hi and thanks for reaching out. My name is Anthony.

I'm Independent Advisor and I'm happy to assist you.

I understand how difficult it is, when the device or app won't work in the way it should.

You can try these possible solution:

Boot your windows 10 in safe mode.

When you boot and got error BSOD about "dkmd.sys" for a few times, Windows will redirect to troubleshooting mode. you will find the way to enter safe mode

Or go to see this article : How to enter safe mode Windows 10

Select normal safe mode or safe mode with networking

Start service windows installer (This services cannot start in safe mode)

Do this step for start windows installer service in safe mode

        Run command prompt mode (cmd)

If you run normal safe mode type this and enter -> REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Minimal\MSIServer" /VE /T REG\_SZ /F /D "Service"

If you run safe mode with networking type this and enter -> REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Network\MSIServer" /VE /T REG\_SZ /F /D "Service"

and then start windows installer service by type this and enter -> net start msiserver

Go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features

Find your App & Driver which you installed (My case is "Thin2000" from Fresco Logic Inc.)

    Uninstall its.

    Reboot your computer.

    Your problem should be resolved.

    Hope it will help.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance.

    Thank you and Keep Safe.
