Hi

I have an HID keyboard with my HP AllinOne

However the spacebar just got stuck.

Currently using an onscreen keyboard as a workaround

I would like to assign another key to the spacebar function

But when I try to do that ,i get the response: Device not supported

Pleasehelp

Thanks

Hi karennayak, My name is Jeremy, a Windows Independent Adviser. I'll be happy to help you out today. Let’s see what I can do.

Is your keyboard still working now? or you have encountered a problem while trying to change the space bar key and you can't use the keyboard at all?

if it's not working at all, you can reset it and try to change the spacebar keys again

    • Right-click on the start menu and select "Device Manager"
    • Expand the "keyboards" and right-click the HID keyboard and select uninstall
    • Follow on-screen instruction and restart your device
    • After the restart, Go back to Device Manager and click on "Action" then select "scan for hardware changes" it will reinstall your keyboard driver

You may use this method to assign other keys for your spacebar, please visit the link below

Let me know how it goes

    Kind regards,

Have you thought of cleaning the keyboard with canned air or liquid contact cleaner?
