Cannot install Visual C++ 2010

I've been wanting to reinstall Apex Legends after uninstalling it about a year back.

However during installation it would always come up with an error saying that the Visual C++ installation had failed.

After quite a bit of digging, I found it was specifically the 2010 redistributable that was having issues, and the installer would not start.

The .msi installer would say extracting installer files, and then a windows error reporter would appear saying the installer had stopped working.

I have tried downloading and manually installing c++ 2010 from the windows website, and the same error occurs.

Upon inspecting the event viewer, I get this regarding the installation:

Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues in installing Visual C++ 2010. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.

One of the things I can suggest you is to try repairing Microsoft Visual C++ and check if that helps. To repair Microsoft Visual C++, refer the section Repair options from the Control Panelunder Repair apps and programs in the article Repair or remove programs in Windows 10.

If this doesn’t work, you can try uninstalling it completely and then reinstalling it. To uninstall, refer the section **Uninstall from the Control Panel (for programs)**under Uninstall or remove apps and programs.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,
