default apps

Question

I am setting up new laptop. Under the default apps settings for the "MAPS" I want google maps and it will only give 2 choices: the recommended Microsoft map app or go shop in the Microsoft store. I have set my browser as Google chrome.

Also, I do not want YAHOO. I want google to be the page that shows up when I open computer and then type in whatever site I wish to go to from there.

Hi, ddduncan! Thanks for reaching out! I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you, and I am here to work with you on this issue.

Unfortunately, you cannot use websites on the Maps feature on Windows 10, only apps from Windows Store, and Google Maps is not available there. You can still use Google Maps website on your internet browser, though.

Regarding using Google as Home Page, please tell me what browser are you using, so I can help you get there.

In case you're using the ne Edge browser, do the following:

1. Open Microsoft Edge, select Settings and more > Settings .
2. Select Appearance.
3. Turn on Show home button.
4. You can either choose New tab page or select Enter URL for a page that you want to use as your home page.
