My mouse has started double clicking randomly from a while now, it happens at windows in general, Chrome, Win Explorer, VLC, it's like it happens in the OS.

I've already tried changing the mouse, updating drivers, reinstalling drivers and unplugging and plugging it back in, none solved the problem.

I have a HP Pavilion x360, win 10 and its Microsoft Optical Mouse 2000

    Hello CarlosAHernandezM,

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'll be happy to assist you today. When was the last time it worked properly? What is your current Windows version and edition? Press Start then click Settings(Gear icon), select System then About.

Please try the following methods below.

The most common reason of the double-click issue is the double-click speed setting for your mouse being set too low.

Press Start then search mouse settings

    Click Additional mouse options

Please try to adjust the slider for the double-click speed option, then press OK

Kindly test the double-click speed adjustment to see if that helps fix the double-clicking issue. Please repeat the steps above, if needed.

After that, Restart your computer using Clean boot of Windows 10.

    **Perform a Clean Boot

Determine whether a background program or a software conflict is causing the issue.

Go to the search box > type MSConfig.

Select System Configuration > go to the Services tab.

Select and put a check mark on "Hide all Microsoft services" > Click Disable all.

Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > Disable all the unnecessary services running there. Restart your computer.

Kindly check the support article below for more details

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.
