Text Input Cursor is a Black Box

As seen in the screen shot, the insert cursor is thicker than usual, the image hasn't been enhanced. It flickers like the normal cursor

I have this problem on many places, file explorer, word, and inserting password etc

All help appreciated.

Hi Hilly

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Ease of Access - Text Cursor

The slider at the bottom of that page can be used to change the size of that cursor, drag it to the minimum value, which is the default

If that was already at its minimum value, change that by dragging the slider, then restart (not shut down) your PC and then go back in and set the slider to its minimum value to reset that registry key . . .
