How to make windows start the same programs with the exact same state?

Hello!

I'm so sorry I didn't see your response for some reason Microsoft didn't notify me of it:(

Anyways I solved it by restarting my computer! There were a lot of updates waiting for me; I usually just don't install them immediately because it requires closing all my windows. Once I updated everything, however, it was fine.

Is there a way for my computer to automatically open up all the files and windows I previously have opened after I restarted? For example, when I restart, my computer automatically closes all my word documents, how do I get my computer to automatically open them up again, in a specific order?

Thank you!!

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you want to start the same programs with same exact state after a Windows restart. I’ll certainly assist you with the details.

One of the things I would suggest you is to try changing the Windows Settings and see if that helps. To do this, refer the steps mentioned below:

    1.     Press Windows logo key + I, to open Settings.

    2.     Click on Accounts and select Sign-in options from the left pane.

    3.     Now, under Restart apps, toggle the switch for Automatically save my restartable apps when I sign out and restart them after I sign in.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards,

Thank you!! Does this option include opening all my individual word documents as well, or does it just open the app?
