WindowsApps on D:\ Drive

Hi,

I have a few games from the Microsoft store on my D:\ drive. I was trying to modify the files of these games but all of the files have locks on them, and when I try to open them they tell me: "You don't have permission to open the file. See the owner or an administrator to obtain permission." The thing is, I own the file and have admin rights on the computer. The games that I have on my C:\ drive let me access the files just fine, the only problem are the ones on my D:\ drive. I have seen other posts about the same thing, but to fix it they booted into linux and just did what they needed to do there. I was just wondering if there is a better way to fix this that would let me stay in windows. I am on version 2004, build 19041.928. Any help is appreciated!

So I tried this and it just told me that it couldn't move the object and that it would do it when I restarted my system, but when I restarted my system, it didn't work. I ended up just booting into linux and making a copy of the file then booting back into windows to read it. Kind of dumb that you can't even read these files even with every permission under the sun. Thank you for trying to help.

    Hi GustavChushubu,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. See if this can help you unlock the files you are trying to access, here's link to the guide:

    https://appuals.com/how-to-remove-padlock-or-lo....

If the above doesn't work, download a third party utility called Unlocker and use it to unlock the file. Here's the download link:

Here's how to use it to unlock files:

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!
