Hello, I’m Virginia an independent advisor with 20 years of expertise in fixing my own & friends’ PC problems.

Which Windows are you running? Some of the files suggest Windows 8.1.

Which program are you using for backup?

Some of the folders seem to be cloud related (SkyDrive/OneDrive) so perhaps these folders aren’t accessible to the backup program.

The error suggests problems with the hard drive so try this program to see if there’s a problem:

    https://crystalmark.info/en/

I’d also recommend running chkdsk on both C drive & the drive you’re backing up to:

    Cmd with admin & enter:

chkdsk C:  /r for C drive For the backup drive just enter the same cmd but change C: / for the drive letter of the external drive.

    Also run:

Right click on start & choose powershell with admin & enter:

    SFC /SCANNOW

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

If this doesn’t fix the backup problem:

Windows backup & maybe in the future file history are being deprecated & will eventually be removed, what you’re experiencing may be related to that.

Microsoft recommend using third party software:

    “System Image Backup (SIB) Solution

We recommend that users use full-disk backup solutions from other vendors.”

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deploy...

I recommend moving to third party imaging software now before it is removed permanently if you prefer backing up your PC rather than using File history.

Many users recommend Macrium Reflect free:

    You’re welcome.

File history is fine for recovering accidentally deleted files but isn’t really recommended for full backup solutions.

I use Macrium reflect premium + file history & Macrium has saved my sanity too many times to count.

I think I will just use the file history backup in windows 10 as you said that the old windows 7 backup feature is obsolete and will try another backup program and thanks for the information really appreciate the help  rendered.
