We will change mail archive system and want to test it first, we have a journaling rule to journal all messages and sent to a local mailbox. Current mail archive system collect mail through IMAP. We want to set another standard journaling on a mailbox database and journaling all messages to new archive system through smtp. Exchange server 2013 support both journaling rules run in the same time with the same mailbox database?

    Hi @Jordan Wong

Did you mean currently you have a journal rule to journal all messages to a local mailbox, and you would like to also enable journaling on a specific database to journal messages sent or received by mailboxes in the database?

Based on my test, it is possible.

I created a journal rule to journal all messages to a local mailbox journal@Company portal .com, and enabled journal on a specific database to journal mesages to another local mailbox journal2@Company portal .com.

    Journal rule:

Enable journaling for a specific database:

When user1 sends a mail to user2 (mailbox hosted by the specific database), you may see that the message is journaled in both journal mailboxes.

    journal2@Company portal .com:

If you would like to journal all messages to new archive system through smtp, you may need to setup a specific send connector or make sure the archive system server can be resolved successfully via DNS records.
