Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues installing important updates on your PC.

Meanwhile, you may want to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below:

Method 1:

Download and install the most recent Servicing Stack Update (SSU) by choosing the operating that you are using on the PC and try installing Windows updates.

Method 2: Fix Windows file corruption

I suggest you to run the System File Checker Scan in Windows 10 **** and check if that resolves the issue.

Method 3: Performing an in-place upgrade.

By performing an in-place upgrade, you will clean up the system which may help resolve some troubles with the system. To perform an in place upgrade on the computer, refer the steps mentioned in the article How to perform an In-place Upgrade with Windows 10 Step-by-Step Guide by PaulSey…

Note: I suggest you backup important files and data before performing a repair install of Windows.

Hope it helps.

    Hi Omar ,

i faced this kind of prob. a few days ago . This is how i solve it====

settings > update and security > troubleshoot >  additional troubleshooters > windows update > Run

this troubleshooter dude then fixing my problems automatically . Then restart PC .

then i try again and succeed .

    Alternate way :

"Your device is missing important security and quality fixes.....Error code:(0x80073712)" sometimes it needs to wait ....their automatic prob happens in update and automatically that prob. are not seen after 2 weeks almost . I faced this also before .

    Final way :

If you really delete or your pc cleaner delete essential file , then use "windows update assistance" to **** it off . It is your final actionable commando step.

Method 1 fails, even though I download the right file for the right version on PC

    Edition Windows 10 Pro
    Version 20H2
    Installed on ‎26/‎06/‎2020
    OS build 19042.1055
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.2020.0

    Installed RAM 32.0 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

    Method 2 fails

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.

    Method 3 - I don't need an upgrade

    What next?

Thank you for your feedback. I actually tried the troubleshooter but it did not work. I'll try the last option.
