Hi,
Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.
We understand the concern as you are unable to access any share resource over the network, not even Hyper-V VMs or via VPN to some site.
Let us try a few steps and check.
Step 1: Run the Internet Connection Troubleshooter
Select the Start button, and then select Settings>Update & Security> Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, and then from the list select Internet Connection & Network adapter > Run the troubleshooter.
Step 2: Reset TCP IP
- On the Start screen, type CMD. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt, and then select Run as administrator.
- At the command prompt, enter the following command, and then press Enter: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt Note: If you don't want to specify a directory path for the log file, run the following command instead: netsh int ip reset
- Restart the computer.
Step 3: Check DNS Settings
- Click on Search, type CMD, Run Command Prompt as Administrator.
- In the Command Prompt window, typeipconfig /flushdns
- Press Enter.
I would also suggest you to change the DNS and check if webpages load.
- Press Windows logo key + R, to open Run dialog box.
- Type ncpa.cpl and click on OK.
- Now, right click on the connection that you are using and click on Properties.
- Double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Click on Use the following DNS server addresses, and enter 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.
Also, try the troubleshooting steps referred in this article: Fix network connection issues in Windows and check if it works.
However, for concern/queries related to accessing shared files and VPN connection, let me help to point you in the right direction. I would suggest you to post your query in Q&A Forum where you will find professionals with expertise on VPN connection and that would be the appropriate forum.
Regards,
Aditya Roy
