The default app listing for my *.tax2020 file is polluted. The default app, Turbo Tax, is installed, but is not offered as an option in Microsoft Store. How do I reset the default other than uninstalling and re-installing?

Hi, I am Van. I'm an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'll be glad to help you today.

You can change the default app by file type by navigating to this location. Press the Windows key + I, then go to Apps > Default apps, then click Choose default apps by file type. You could also right-click on the file then select properties. Click the Change button in the Opens with, then select the app that you want the file to be associate with.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance, I will be glad to assist.

    Best regards,

    Van

Thanksfor your reply which is the standard solution. However, the system does not offer the correct default app in Microsoft Store.

How did you Get Turbo Tax?

In checking; Turbo Tax is not available in the Microsoft Store.

If it had been available my wife would not have to have purchased it at Costco.
