As I'm using Asus R558U model,

at first "numpad 8" key stuck, not physically as mentioned and then "numpad 6" and now the "Up" key is keep hitting many times while playing games or using browser or anything. Only "esc" key works for a second and at another second its keep hitting simultaneously. While playing videos on player or in YouTube the "up" key stuck and the volume goes 100% all the time. At first the key "8" and "6" was stuck while using notepad but its shifts to "up" key now.

I don't know how to resolve it, I can't scroll down as the key hits all the time.

Please help.

I have uninstalled all of my keyboard drivers and reinstalled,

I've used a different keyboard,

Still no solution.

Hi PreyanshSoni,

Good day! This is Jhakesong an Independent Advisor and I will be happy to assist you with this.

I am sorry to hear about the inconvenience. The software for Data Entry might be the one responsible for this. Is the software something that you still use? If not, I suggest uninstalling it and see if the issue goes away.

I also suggest reinstalling the keyboard drivers:

  1. Press windows key + X
  2. Select Device manager
  3. Under Keyboards, uninstall every entry that you have in there
  4. Reboot your computer
  5. Check if the issue still persists.

Let me know how it goes. Have a great day!

Hi PreyanshSoni,

Thanks for getting back. See if this is a software conflict. Try to run the computer in safe mode and test if the issue still occurs.

Here's how to start in Safe mode.

  1. Once you are at the Windows 10 sign-in screen, hold down the Shift key on your keyboard and not let it go. While holding down the Shift key, click on the Power button (Windows 10 Power Button) and then click on Restart.
  2. When Windows 10 restarts, you will be at the Choose an Option screen. Click Troubleshoot
  3. From Troubleshoot screen, click Advanced Options, then click Startup Settings
  4. On the Startup Settings option and you will now be presented with the Startup Settings screen. Click the Restart button
  5. Windows will now begin to start, but you will be presented with a screen that provides various options you can select to specify how Windows should be started.
  6. Press F4 to start Safe Mode.

If the issue does not occur in safe mode. It is probably a software issue. Try an in-place upgrade of windows. Here is a guide by Andre Da Costa:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

If the issue still occurs in safe mode, I would say this is a hardware problem. Have the computer checked for hardware repair.

Let me know what happens.

Thank you for suggesting a solution Jhakesong.

I tried putting the computer in safe mode, as there is no issue regarding the problem as i stated earlier.

The issue is not occurred in safe mode nor in normal mode (currently). But now the UP key is not responsive. The multiple times hitting is stopped but also the working of the UP key. I have to use the mouse for pointing as the key doesn't work. Physically the key is clicking very smooth but it doesn't work. I don't know what is happening.

Please help me to solve this.

And also suggest me to go for the Andre Da Costa's article to perform a repair not as you stated.

    Thank you for replying juliet.

No, there is no spills as only me using the laptop after buying.

As i remembered i installed a software for data entry of numbers (i use numpad several times at that time) as when this problem triggers with numpad key 8 (its keep pressing for several time) and after few weeks key 8 is totally fine but problem shifts to numpad key 6. Now after 4 months the problem starts with up key and key 6 is totally fine now.

    I don't know what happens.
