Windows 10 pro for workstation product key doesn't match error.

Numan 26 Reputation points

Hi folks,

I purchased windows 10 pro for a new workstation (built from parts and has no OS) directly from Microsoft and in the order confirmation email I got the product key.

I followed the instructions to create a bootable flash drive using the media creation tool.

When I use this flash drive to boot and proceed with install it doesn't recognize the product key that I received in the email.

What am I doing wrong?

While installing Windows, you can skip product key part. Once you complete installation, setup network and then retry proceeding with activation from Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

If you still can't activate, click on Troubleshoot link to launch Activation troubleshooter.

    Hope this helps!

If Windows 10 doesn’t recognize your product key during installation, you could use VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T to complete, next use your product key which comes from Microsoft email for activation.
Once Windows 10 install complete, type slui in search box and enter your product key, once computer connect to Internet, system will be activated.
