SharePoint Online one-time download

Question

Hello SharePoint Admins and Experts,

do you know if there is any solution for SPO to have a one-time passcode for download?
I mean sharing links are a great possibility but you have only the security with limit the time for expire. It would be really good to create a one-time code for download and access files/folder for just one-time.

I have search the net but was not successful to find such a solution for sharepoint online. I only found things like the one-time access with B2B or does anybody use it for this use case?
What do you think about it?

Hi @Roth, Lars ,

We understand your situation. In fact, SPO is not a public site. As you may know, the password and expiration are set for security reasons.

You could set the expiration time to be longer, which increases security and does not require updating links in a short period of time or set it never expire.

After changing to a longer time, you can see that the default expiration time has increased:

@Elsie Lu_MSFT Thanks for your answer, the Sharing-Link solution without expiring ist my fallback. It's possible to change the policy and set them to never expire.
