Could not able to install windows 10 because of bitlocker encryption issue

Hi Friends,

I will jump straight to the point.

I did a factory reset of my windows 10 laptop and tried to install windows from USB drive. I see error message saying "Windows can't be installed on drive 0 partition 3." I have then clicked on the hyperlink to see the details of reasons.

It says as follows -

"Window cannot be installed to this hard disk space. Bitlocker Drive Encryption is enabled on the selected partition. Suspend (also referred to as disable) Bitlocker in the Control Panel, and then restart the installation."

Also I tried delete option but it did not happen. Error message was " We couldn't delete the selected partition. [Error: 0x80070017]."

I have only one drive (C Drive) on system before factory reset.

I am using Lenovo IdeaPad 5. Ryzen 7 4700U 8GB RAM 512 GB SSD.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi KumaraBalla

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Please Note, this process will wipe the contents of that drive.

At the very start of the Installation Process, press Shift + F10, or Shift + Fn + F10 to open Command Prompt

Run this command and hit Enter:

    diskpart

Run this command and hit Enter:

    list disk

(Make note of the disk number you want to wipe and enter it into the next command - replace X)

Run this command and hit Enter:

    select disk X

Run this command and hit Enter:

    clean

Run this command and hit Enter:

    convert gpt

Then close Command Prompt, then restart the PC to begin the installation
