Hi,

When I was trying the one-time password technical profile its failing. This is the error logged

Unable to cast object of type 'Web.TPEngine.Providers.OneTimePasswordProtocolProvider' to type 'Web.TPEngine.Providers.IProtocolProvider'

I have added a basic technical profile in a user journey. It has simply thrown this error.
No troubleshooting steps done. Your development team can easily fix this.

I am getting this exact same error. I've created a simple policy that just creates an OTP and sends it as a JWT claim. I built this because my full policy wasn't working and I didn't understand why, so I broke it down into the simplest thing I could test, which was generating the OTP.

My code is based on the tutorial for sending custom emails that @ahelland mentions and triple checked against the documentation. This error implies something more basic than a missed parameter or something. Seems like a type cast error is a programming error in 'Web.TPEngine.Providers.OneTimePasswordProtocolProvider', but perhaps the error message in Insights is misleading.

I used the OTP profiles here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory-b2c/custom-email#add-otp-technical-profiles

I don't know the details of what you are trying to do, but this works for email at least. Could it be you have a typo or syntax error in the profile you have defined?
