I can change the Keyboard language (English (Australia) US) via the taskbar icon (or Windows/Spacebar) but how do I get it to keep that setting? - It reverts to English (Australia) UK when I restart the computer, so some characters typed do not match what in on the keyboard.

    Hi AllanChes,

I'm Rodrigo and I will help you.

When restarted, the system reverts back to the keyboard layout of the language set to be the preferred.

To force a keyboard layout to be the default, go to Settings > Time & Language > Language > Keyboard, under "Override for default input method" select the keyboard layout you want and it is done.

    Hi Rodrigo,

Thanks for you quick reply, which lead to me solving the problem! I could not find the solution using the directions you gave because, on my computer there is no heading for "Keyboard" under Settings > Time & Language > Language . However I did a search for the term you mentioned: "Override the default input method" and found it, so thank you for giving me the term to search for. It is buried even deeper on my computer (Windows 11).

For anyone else searching for this setting, try under Settings > Time & Language > Typing > Advanced Keyboard Settings > Override for default input method. It is well hidden!

    Thanks again

    Allan

I'm sorry, I did not see that you selected the Windows 11 category, the directions I told you were for Windows 10.
I'm glad that it was solved, have a great life!
