Shortcut rename issue with teams SPO site in Onedrive

We have a problem with Sharepoint / Onedrive shortcuts.
When we use the option Add shortcut to onedrive for a document library: this works fine when we have full control
We can rename the shortcut to our convenience and we are happy.
When we do the same for a document library on which we have read only permissions on a non teams sharepoint site: this also works fine. we can rename the shortcut
BUT! When we do this on a document library on which we have read only permissions on a TEAMS sharepoint site: this doesn't work as expected.
We can rename the shortcut, but it will instantly create a complete local copy of the library, with the name we chose AND keep the original shortcut.

    Hi @Ajaz Khan

I have tested in both SharePoint team site and non SharePoint team site, user cannot rename the shortcut in the OneDrive with read permission.

Please check whether the document library has unique permission. And also please check whether the user has read permission for the document library and site collection.

    User with read permission:

    Casey,

This happens for my firm and is frustrating.
For normale sharepoint document libraries this problem doesn't occur, but for teams enabled sharepoint document libraries it does.

Is this something that will be fixed, of functiionality that will be added later on?

    Regards,

    Tim.

Having this issue too. I'm curious as I've been a browser up until now. I've very rarely ever see Microsoft responding or acknowledging issues, is this normal?
