I have Windows 10 and I have not used Media Player 12 for a long time. How can I import new files into the player? In the menu I cannot find a command to add files. There is a command to create playlist, but the files that I wish to add to a playlist are not in the library.

    Hi loyall

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

By default, Windows Media player just looks into the Music Library folder in your user folder for music files.

To add music files to Windows Media Player, there are a couple of options.

    1

Close Windows Media Player, then copy those files into the Music folder in File Explorer, then open Windows Media Player and wait a few seconds for the library to update.

    2

To add another folder that contains Music Files to Windows Media Player, in the application, click File - Manage Libraries - Music and from there, you can add folders of music to the library.

    Thanks Dave,

What I have is a folder of course lectures on MP3 files. I didn't want to mix them in with my music files so I used your option #2 and created a new "music" library titled My Courses.
