I'm recruited for teaching MS word to some... actually I don't know whom... 30+ govt job people

I need to prepare my notes for the same.

I've found the symbol for "Return" key in "Insert\Symbol" but can't find the symbol for Tab which is ... hmmmm.... I really don't know how to explain it.

It's like diode symbol, 2 arrows with "I" at the end, facing opposite site from one another horizontally, one at up, one at down...

O my god, why I didn't think about it before...

It is at your keyboard too, placed to left... uhhhhh... whom I telling to... You already know where the TAB key is...

    Hi CyborgBasumatary

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

In Word, the Enter key on your keyboard will produce a return and the Tab key will produce a Tab, there is no need for special characters or codes when you are just typing

It is only if you are using Find and Replace, that you need to use the codes and there, you can use ^t for Tab and ^p for a new line character.

    Hi CyborgBasumatary

Thank you, I now understand, the best method would be to setup an autocorrect shortcut for each of those characters.

Find one of those characters and copy it.

In Word, go to File - Options, on the left, click Proofing and on the right, click the Autocorrect button

Then, enter a key combination like ZZ and paste that character into the box

Then, whenever you type ZZ in a Word document, it will be replaced by that character.

Find one of those characters and copy it.

I'm doing it right now. Where is it? Copy from where?

Sorry, if I'm asking fool kind of question... My brain is out of my scull, as I'm trying hard to get it since 6 days (with no luck).

Somebody inform me it's some kind of "u-nee-cod" or something like that. He direct me to find the "TAB" symbol there...

    But, I really-really-really don't know what's he talking about...

    Hi CyborgBasumatary

If you click Insert - Symbol, can you find those characters on the list?

May I ask, do you intend inserting those characters and having them visible in the finished document, what is the purpose of that?
