Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Have you tried reinstalling the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable"?

It includes the "VCRUNTIME140.dll" file mentioned in the error. If that DLL is currently corrupted on your system, reinstalling the redistributable package might resolve the issue.

Download from the links below. I suggest you install both the x86 and x64 versions.

    x86: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x86.exe

    x64: https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

    Source: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/la...

After installing both suggested versions, restart your PC and see if the error no longer occurs.

If the error occurs again or you have already tried reinstalling, please let me know. Click on the "Reply" button below my reply.

Feel free to ask back any questions.

Hi David, thanks a lot for the advice. The mouse app wasn't working, after following your instructions everything was back to normal.
