I’ve had this problem for a week now and I can’t fix it. It’s a lagging loading cursor with a black screen. I’ve tried every single command, trust me. It still hasn’t worked because it doesn’t show up on the monitor. I don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve tried everything, still a black screen with a lagging loading cursor.

    Hello A,

You've found your tech home. Thanks for posting in the Microsoft community!

According to the description, I understand that you are having an issue with cursor lagging with a black screen. Let me help you with that.

I would like to suggest you that try a custom installation to troubleshoot black screen issue. Below are some steps to perform a custom installation of windows 11.

You may now custom install Windows 11 on your device from the installation media you created on the USB flash drive:

    • Attach the USB flash drive to the PC on which you want to custom install Windows 11.
    • Restart your PC while holding the Shift key to boot into the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE). Once in the Windows Recovery Environment, choose to boot from the USB drive.
    • On the Windows Setup page, select your language, time and keyboard preferences and then select Next.
    • Select Install now.
    • On the Activate Windows page, select I don’t have a product key if you are reinstalling the same edition of Windows. Your copy of Windows will be automatically activated later after reconnecting your Microsoft Account. Select Next.
    • On Select the operating system you want to install page, choose the same edition of Windows 11 as verified on the PC in step 2 above, then select Next. g. If you agree to the Microsoft Software License Terms, select Accept. Then select Next.
    • If you agree to the Microsoft Software License Terms, select Accept. Then select Next.
    • Select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced) as the install type. Make sure you’ve backed up all content on your PC before proceeding.
    • Choose the hard drive on your PC where you want to install Windows, select Next. Windows installation will begin. Don’t turn off your PC. Note:
      • You do not need to format the drive or delete existing partitions. Choose the Primary partition where the Windows OS is installed and setup will proceed as expected, including the re-use of previously existing additional partitions (i.e., Recovery partition, etc.)
      • If during installation your PC doesn't detect a hard drive, you may be required to load a driver. Reference the PC manufacturer’s website to find the driver.
    • If the partition you’ve chosen contains files from a previous Windows installation, you will see a message about the Windows. Old folder where those files will be moved. Select OK to acknowledge the message. Windows installation will begin. Don’t turn off your PC.
    • After Windows is installed, your PC will restart. Once your PC has restarted, follow the prompts to finish your device setup.
    1. Once you've reinstalled Windows, go to Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program to re-enroll your device to the Windows Insider Program, making sure you select the channel to which you'd like to move. Here is the video with the step-by-step instructions for your reference.

If this answer helps. You can label them accordingly to benefit others as well.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    best regards
