Whenever I try to connect to an OMRON PLC via USB I get the following error appear in Event Viewer and I'm unable to connect to my PLC. I have two other devices that can connect without issue. I've tried completely removing and reinstalling the OMRON software so it doesn't seem to be that at fault.

    Hello,

Thanks for posting to Microsoft Community!

According to the description, there is an issue with the DCOM server when trying to connect to your OMRON PLC via USB. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

    • Run the Component Services tool by pressing Windows key + R, typing "dcomcnfg" and pressing Enter.
    • In the Component Services window, expand "Component Services" > "Computers" > "My Computer" > "DCOM Config."
    • Locate the DCOM Server mentioned in the error message: {F6299854-3771-46F4-AAD6-B1CD80E0751D}.
    • Right-click on the DCOM Server, go to Properties, and navigate to the Security tab.
    • Under "Launch and Activation Permissions," click Edit Limits and ensure that the necessary permissions are granted.
    • Restart your computer after making these changes and try connecting to your OMRON PLC again.

If the issue persists, you may need to contact OMRON support for further assistance as it could be related to their specific software or drivers.

When everything is resolved, feel free to mark this thread as answer and helpful. Otherwise, please let me know if there's anything else I can help you with.
