Does an Entra ID joined device with Windows 11 Home Edition Operating System allows login with Work or School instead of a Local account

Hi,

This device with Windows 11 Home edition has joined Entra ID domain, but it is unable to login with Work or School account instead of a Local account. Can the experts confirm if it is the limitation of this particular edition of Windows or if there is any work around to achieve the same.

As I further checked in Info section of the System Settings, it allows login with a Personal Microsoft account apart from a Local account.

Thanks

    Hello,

If you have a Home edition, your device cannot be joined in Entra Domain. What you see there is actually called Intune Enrollment instead. Intune Enrollment only allows your device to be registered with the organization's device management, so that your work IT can push policies to make sure your computer's security settings align with organization requirement, such as making sure your computer always updates when it is available, and you have a strong and complex PIN, and you change your PIN every x days, etc. But Intune Enrollment doesn't allow you to create a seperate Windows user using your work account. That required at least Pro edition, so that you can join Entra Domain and then log in using your work account as a separate Windows user.
