"Replication appliance is disconnected" but it's running

I am trying to migrate a single Linux server from GCP to Azure, following the instructions at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/tutorial-migrate-gcp-virtual-machines
I am at the Replicate stage and when I choose the appliance (on a box hosted on GCP), I only have one choice but it says it is disconnected. I have looked up and tried several different things to get it to work but to no avail. The name of the replication appliance in the dropdown does not exactly match the appliance name on the Azure Migrate main page, though, so I'm not sure what's happening.

Any help is appreciated.

There was some confusion on my end regarding the optional Discovery & Assessment appliance and the actual Migration/Replication appliance. This was eventually resolved.
