    1. Désinstaller Adrenalin

Panneau Applications → Supprimer AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition

    Redémarrer

    1. Nettoyer avec AMD Cleanup Utility

    https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601

    Dedémarrez en mode sans échec

Lancer l’utilitaire, nettoyer, puis redémarrer normalement

    Cocher uniquement “Driver Only”

Hello, I'm sorry if that didn't work. Since you've already reset Adrenalin, confirmed the BIOS settings, looked for overrides, and reinstalled drivers several times, let's try some new steps that will help you fix this more completely.

Please be very careful as you use these advanced options:

    1. Check to see if Windows is using 16GB of shared GPU memory

Click on Task Manager. Click on Performance. Go to GPU Check and then Shared GPU Memory.

It means that your system is using the memory correctly if it says 16GB. There might be a bug in the way Adrenalin shows things.

If it still says 2GB, keep reading.

    1. Use the AMD Cleanup Utility to completely remove all AMD software

    Click on this link: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/gpu-601

Get it here Open up the AMD Cleanup Utility > Choose "Full Cleanup" > Start up PC

This makes sure that no Adrenalin profiles or leftover driver files are getting in the way.

    1. Only reinstall the Minimal Setup driver this time, not the full Adrenalin.

To download the minimal setup version of AMD Ryzen 7 6800H, go to https://www.amd.com/en/support and search for it. Set up

    1. (Not required) Turn off MPO (Multi-Plane Overlay). This can help 3D apps like Blender use less memory.

Open up the Registry Editor. Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm. Right-click and choose "New" > "DWORD (32-bit). Value > Give it a name More OverlayTestMode Change the number to 5 and then restart your computer.

    1. Check Shared GPU Memory once more

To check the GPU, go to Task Manager > Performance > GPU Check. Memory shared by the GPU = 16GB

If UMA is still limited to 2GB after this:

Some OEMs don't let you change the UMA through firmware, especially if you use custom BIOS or ACPI settings. If that's the case, you should check with the support team for the laptop's maker to see if system-level power or thermal controls are overriding the BIOS setting.

I hope this helps this time. I appreciate your time.

    Many thanks,

    Pau

    Hi,

Greetings! My name is Pau and I'm an Independent Advisor. I know how frustrating it is when turning on AMD Adrenalin's memory optimization limits your UMA frame buffer to 2GB, which slows down games and 3D modeling. This is something I'm here to help you fully solve.

Your BIOS UMA Frame Buffer is set to 16GB, but when Memory Optimization is set to Gaming, AMD Adrenalin overrides it and only lets you use 2GB of VRAM.

How to Fix It Step by Step:

    1. Reset AMD Adrenalin to a factory setting

Visit > Open AMD Adrenalin > Tap the gear icon to go to Settings. Click on System > Then click "Reset to Defaults."

    1. Make sure UMA Changes in BIOS

Click on "Restart." To get to BIOS >, press F2 or Delete. Look at UMA Frame buffer size is 16GB > Save and leave

    1. Turn off Adrenalin's memory optimization

To disable memory optimization, go to AMD Adrenalin, select the Gaming tab, then Global Graphics. You can also change the mode from Gaming to Productivity.

    1. Get rid of overrides for each app

Click on AMD Adrenalin, then Gaming, then Game Profiles. Pick out each app (Games, Blender, etc.) > Press the "Reset" or "Disable" button.

    1. Not required: Remove Adrenalin (Only the Minimal Driver)

Select "Control Panel," then "Uninstall AMD Software," and then "Restart."

Select Display Adapters from the list of devices. Select AMD Radeon from the list that comes up. You can either update the driver or get the Minimal Setup driver here:

    It's at https://www.amd.com/en/support.

Thoroughly research any product advertised on the site before you decide to download and install it.

    1. Check the shared GPU memory

Click on the Performance tab in Task Manager, then click on GPU and confirm. Memory shared by the GPU = 16GB

Most of the time, these steps fix the problem. If UMA is still limited after all of these steps, you may need to contact AMD or the support team for your laptop manufacturer again because the override could be locked by firmware.

Please let me know how it goes or if you need more help.

    Many thanks,

    Pau
