Hi Support,

I have configured the 3rd party secure email gateway for my Office365. After adding the 3rd party SPF record, I can see from the MXToolBox for the SPF record Lookup, there is a warning sign at SPF Record Deprecated; Result: The DNS record type 99 (SPF) has been deprecated.

Please advise.

What format of SPF record do you set?

According to the MXToolBox article, the cause of the warning is "The use of alternative DNS RR types that was formerly supported during the experimental phase of SPF was discontinued in 2014. SPF records must now only be published as a DNS TXT (type 16) Resource Record (RR) [RFC1035].". So please check and make sure that the format of the SPF record you set is TXT.

The SPF record format used was TXT.

Is the mailbox in Office 365 normal for sending and receiving emails?

Could you share with us the format of the SPF you created? Please noted that covering your personal information.

Have you consulted the support of MXToolBox? Because the warning is issued by MXToolBox, and according to its official document, we could known that it is caused by the above reasons. Since we don’t know much about the judgment mechanism of MXToolBox, you could also try to contact MXToolBox support to get more professional help.
