How do i stop Windows from automatically switching audio output when i plug in a new one

Hello,
I would like to start by saying that disabling a certain audio device is not the preferred method. I want a permanent fix.

Every time i plug in a device that could be an audio device, Windows automatically assumes i want to use that as my audio device.
My PC very often switches from one docking station to another. I want to have it set that it ALWAYS uses the built in headphone jack.

Disabling the audio device is not an option because i would have to do that 100+ times.

How do i guarantee that it permanently uses the built in headphone jack instead of a monitor that it detects

I've searched the settings app but there it doesnt show an option for this behaviour.

If its solved by a command thats fine too but i don't want to manually disable all other audio devices it could be attached to.

Best regards,

Wybe

Hi, I'm Jan and I'm happy to help you today. I'm sorry you're experiencing this audio problem. Try to set the built-in audio headphone jack as the default audio device.

Press the Windows key + R

    Then type in "mmsys.cpl"

    then click ok.

    Under the Playback tab.

From the list of output devices

Right-click on the Built in headphone and click "Set as Default Device"

    Then click OK.

Look at the Control Panel>Sound and see what you have chosen, and did you make it your default? After you set a default be sure to click on Apply and OK. What do your docking stations have to do with this?
