Hello Microsoft,

I still have problems with my laptop I bought three months ago.

Began with the PIN code panel not showing up when opening up the laptop. Then I did an emergency restart. That have lead to my BitLocker loop conondrum I am still in right now. At first when starting up the computer, the computer says “Förbereder automatisk reparation” that gets rudely interrupted by flickering commando prompt windows and then on to blue the blue screen of BitLocker. That’s where I’m now.

How do I solve this problem? I know about the Commando Prompt screen. What kind of prompts should I write down and in which order? I did this to see what my status is. What’s my problem here?

    Hi Emanuel,

Just to remind you, Microsoft Community is run by fellow users, not by Microsoft employees. The quickest way out of the BitLocker loop is to unlock your system volume with your recovery key and then turn BitLocker off so you can boot normally. Boot into the recovery command prompt and at the X:\Windows\System32> prompt type exactly:

    manage-bde -unlock C: -RecoveryPassword YOUR-48-DIGIT-KEY

(enter your full 48-digit recovery key with no spaces or dashes)

Once it reports that C: is unlocked, run

    manage-bde -off C:

to begin decrypting the drive. When that finishes you can reboot into Windows, suspend BitLocker protection, and then re-enable it with a new PIN so the pre-boot prompt shows again. If you don't have your recovery key to hand, sign in at https://account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey with the Microsoft account you used on that PC or check any printout or USB you saved when BitLocker was first enabled.
